Every year on her birthday Xiao Mi (Rene Liu) will wait impatiently for an email that arrive punctually no matter what from someone she would never forget; Xiao Nan (Louis Koo). However on this day with pouring rain, the email arrives 42 hours late.

All their university schoolmates think they are the first couple to get married. However Xiao Mi is a girl severely lacking security and freaked out by the idea of loss.

Every year, Xiao Mi will receive a birthday email from Xiao Nan. This annual connection keeps the two together. And yet between them there lies a secret; they are safeguarding one another while hurting one another as well.
